Onyekachi EZULIKE, the CEO of GreenRepublic, a subsidiary of Soroban Technologies LTD., an incentivised integrated recycling organisation and social enterprise that inspires consumers to embrace active recycling and cleanup culture, by creating and offering them benefits from their everyday waste, has emerged one of the selected Africa’s brightest Entrepreneurs by the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) to win a seed grant in the amount of $5000.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation is an African non-profit organisation founded in 2010 by Tony O. Elumelu and headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, based on his belief that, with the right support, entrepreneurs can be empowered to contribute massively to Africa’s prosperity and social development.

In 2015, TEF consolidated its various programmes and initiatives and made investing in Africa’s next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders a priority. The future of the Tony Elumelu Foundation centers on the provision of structured, robust, and multifaceted support to entrepreneurs around Africa through the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme.

The vision for the Foundation is to unlock the obstacles that Africa’s entrepreneurs face as they grow their start-ups into small to medium enterprises (SMEs), their SMEs into national growth companies, and their national growth companies into African multinationals.

While unveiling the 2019 winners, Mr. Tony Elumelu explained that the foundation sieved through and vetted a record 216,025 applications across the entire continent to select the best 3000. The winners will embark on a 12-week bespoke entrepreneurship and mentorship programme, which is one of the that TEF provides.
